The troops of the Kingdom of Italy were under the command of Napoleon's stepson, Viceroy of Italy, Eugene Bogarne. In 1812 the troops of the Kingdom had been amounted to the Fourth Army Corps.
The 6th regiment appeared in 1805.
In 1810, the soldiers of the regiment expressed dissatisfaction, attempted to raise a rebellion, and 600 people were sent to the formation of the Colonial battalion. The battalion was sent to the island of Elbaby the garrison.
It participated in the battles in Rosas, Kardade, Mulens deРе,Igualada, Wael, Hostalrih, Tortosa, Tarragona, Sagunto, Valencia, San Pelayo, Castro Urdiales, Tolosa, Nivelles, Lutz, Konigswart, Dennewitz, Wartenburg, Leipzig, Parma and in a Cave.
The regiment did not participate in the Russian campaign.
There was regimental artillery in the regiment - 2 three-foot guns.
