In support of the regiment were sent to three companies of the reserve battalion of the fifth. They were part of the first marching demi-brigade 1st Brigade Marching Division Major-General Count Joseph Lagrange, the Eleventh Army Corps.
A small number of soldiers were in other parts bound for Russia. They also were 13 soldiers of the regiment of light infantry who followed in his regiment.
